What is a monthly active user (MAU)?

Any user who is issued a session token by Hanko at least once during a given month, or whose session token is validated via Hanko's /session endpoint, will count as a monthly active user (MAU). Subsequent activity by that user within the same month will not increase the MAU count.

What if I exceed the monthly active users limit on Hanko Cloud Starter?

We don't enforce user limits and won't stop users from signing up or logging in to your app. If you have more users than the limit for more than one month in a row, we'll reach out to you and kindly ask you to subscribe to a higher tier.
